Peace Begins With Me

Let everyone sweep in front of his own door and the whole world will be clean. - Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe

Add Action

The "Peace Begins with Me" program is built around the simple notion that lasting peace begins in the hearts and minds of us all. It is simple mathematics to realize that peace in our thoughts, prayers and meditations translates into peace in the world. While there is still anger and hate within and between us, then somewhere it will have to be vented, and so there is conflict and war.

By taking personal responsibility for war we stop laying blame and getting angry (contributing to more war!) and accept that we are all accountable to start changing the world consciousness beginning with ourselves. Our childlike conclusion is that each peaceful action makes a lasting change for peace in the world, and eventually government leaders and lasting political change will follow.

"Peace Begins with Me" is the opportunity for you to register your or your group's actions for peace. No matter how small, your efforts are a step for each of us and you will be surprised how the smallest action makes the largest statement. Gandhi's spoon of salt was the beginning of the end for England's colonialism. You need to be a member of the World Peace Society first, and we ask that each action will have at least a one minute meditation for peace.

Berkeley Primary School in Wollongong recently explored how "Peace Begins With Me". Learning about the horrible events of Hiroshima encouraged students to then focus on how they as individuals could make a difference for peace. Click here for the full story.

Jehanzeb   Non-violence, find peace - World Peace Society of Australia "You don't make peace by talking to your friends; you have to make peace with your enemies'." Nelson Mandela. After reading Mandela's quote I thought a lot about my strength and my role and at last it’s gave me the impression to become a peace worker. The situation is getting worst everywhere in the world and no one is secure. No one is thinking why????? I did thought about it and started practical work and I found it really encouraging. We are the world and we can change the world in a positive way. Here most of the people are professionals and we have the capabilities to do astonishing work. I am young motivated professional and want to work for my country and for people anywhere in the world. I worked in Pakistan and Afghanistan in the humanitarian sector I got the impression that the people at the grass roots level are not involved in the planning and of course in implementation. Our people are our strength and we have to encourage them in this sector through participatory approaches.  Thursday, November 05, 2009

Agilhard  Non-violence, find peace - World Peace Society of Australia Greetings from Norway After more than 10 years of work I think that I have found the only possible way to create lasting world peace. Your saying: “Peace begins with me!” is true. Peace begins in the minds of humans, and that means a different way of thinking have to be developed. That is just what I am trying to do, even if it seems impossible at present time. Peace can only be achieved by use of peaceful means, is my saying. I am a native Norwegian and so far I have been working alone along a path that no one has gone before. Some 10 years ago I decided to find out about the world religions, tales, myths and legends in the world. I feel strongly that if people of all believe and not believes start studying the Bible as a history book with a simple formula or code, they will find the lost knowledge that all humans are looking for. Only knowledge can replace all kind of beliefs in the world. Only knowledge will break the circle of evil in the world. Only knowledge will replace the world of thoughts that you were born in too and eventually give you a true understanding of a different global government system that is the only possible way to lasting World Peace. The present ruling system with many national states, a global capitalistic system and all the religions in the world have to be replaced with a global system of government with only one set of laws and living rules for the whole world population. It includes the building of a new Motherland as the base for a number of representatives from every people in the world. The new global system of government is taken from the Bible. It is done by removing the camouflage of religion. Gautam  Non-violence, find peace - World Peace Society of Australia While we are speaking about Peace I am thinking only about our family. I strongly believe that a good family may build a peaceful society up and the society may build a peaceful world up. In this case we have the main responsibility to make a good family. So every one should think good one and teach family member the same thing. We must be careful not to do anything that might endanger our neighbor. I think we carry all time the magic stick of our Peace. Just utilize it and make a real peaceful world. Gautam Kumar Saha   Monday, July 07, 2008

David  Non-violence, find peace - World Peace Society of Australia I found a computer-grade level puzzle in the book of Matthew. Being of the family of David on paper on my mother's side, and seeing how the world looks like what "Revelations" looks like, I took the high road and have attempted to fulfill the role of the very last Jewish Prophet, for I think I did this right for all persons on Planet Earth. To see if I did this right, please go to the following link http://www.mameworld.info/ubbthreads/showthreaded.php?Number=112025 and read my post "Decoding the family secret." I posted but did not participate in the discussion group so as to set a time and date stamp on this post. Peace, in 24 hours with your own hands. David Brager  Sunday, August 12, 2007
Cheryl  Non-violence, find peace - World Peace Society of Australia I have started a new group at my VOX blog called "United for Peace". People of all races, cultures, religious and non religious backgrounds must learn to accept each other and live with one another for lasting peace to be achieved - This group is designed to encourage constructive interaction between all of the different groups throughout the world and be United for Peace. The guidlines for the group are: Contributions to the group should be without anger and blame. Peace cannot be achieved if we have anger in our hearts and continue to place blame on others. However please by all means express your opinions and concerns. Just follow the simple guidelines: Criticise the action, not the perpetrator; criticise the argument and not the person making the argument and criticise the policy and not the politician. As Gandhi said, "Hate the sin and love the sinner."   Friday, May 25, 2007

ALINA  Non-violence, find peace - World Peace Society of Australia when there's so much hatred & violence & vindictiveness in this world when people's only mission is to hurt others we can only accomplish peace by fogiving those who have hurt us otherwise our entire life will BE engulfed in feelings of hate & revenge. What an unhappy way to live !! "when our hatred is too keen it places us beneath those we hate." -Francois de la Rochefoucauld PEACE & LOVE TO ALL ALINA KAR  Tuesday, November 28, 2006
Elayn  Non-violence, find peace - World Peace Society of Australia Hello. Till about two years ago I didn't understand the word peace. I thought I did. It wasn't until I lost my peace and my world was shaken that I really came to understand what PEACE means and how precious it is. On Oct 29 2004 my very best friend, my ex-boyfriend, was mXXrdered. Various other things happened in my personal life at the time and until last weekend - breakthrough! - I have not slept for more than 3 hours in a row on any given night. I have worked hard to resolve my anger on many levels, to cope with my grief and to achieve peace and joy in my life. I am now doing great and I really get that until there is peace in the heart of every man, woman and child there will not be peace on Earth. I am not angry with the men who kXLLed him - but I am shocked to the core when I think about the circumstances that must have produced such angry desperate men. I hope they find peace in their lifetimes. I wish you all the best on your journeys as well.   Wednesday, October 11, 2006

Tom  Non-violence, find peace - World Peace Society of Australia Dear God... whom through different eyes, all man see... I pray to you for 'peace'. Weapons are drawn to the ready, with fingers itching to pull. Brother is aiming at brother, through eyes that see hate and fear. Dear God... I ask you close those eyes, so my brother can see through his heart. Place 'mirrors' between each brother, so their 'targets' they can learn to love!  Monday, July 31, 2006

Caitlin  Non-violence, find peace - World Peace Society of Australia Waking up and giving thanks every day helps me to start my day ina peaceful way and acknowledge how lucky I am to live ina country not torn apart by war. As I watch the news I take a moment to send love to those in distres and bless them. Having seen Dr Emoroto's work with water I also bless the water I drink and use in my shower so that the loving vibration place in them can circulate around the world and come back to me. Try it! the water actually tastes sweeter. I love you water, I am grateful to you water, I respect you water . And in doing this I bless myself as I am mostly water.  Monday, September 26, 2005
